Appleworm\u2122 Orchard is a postage-stamp-sized hobby farm set in the picturesque town of Hollis, in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, one of New England\u2019s premier apple-growing regions.\u00a0\u00a0We have two simple and self-reinforcing goals for our orchard.\u00a0 The first is to make it a robust repository of New England\u2019s once-diverse apple-tree varietals, with a particular emphasis on the pre-Prohibition cider-apple trees that once graced our landscape and lifted our spirits.\u00a0 Our second is to breed and raise \u2013 on the worms that populate the orchard\u2019s cider-pomace compost piles \u2013 several varieties of rare and heritage poultry for diverse purposes.\u00a0 We have layers of beautifully colored eggs, large fowl for eating, spirited gamefowl to guard free-ranging flocks, and bearers of regal plumage to decorate our orchard.\u00a0 We are currently directing our attention to Cream Legbars, Ayam Cemanis, Black Marsh Daisies, and Pumpkin Hulseys.\u00a0 For more information about these breeds and other Appleworm\u2122 projects, click on the links in the header above or on the individual poultry breeds listed to the right. \u00a0All fowl and egg photos on this site are of our own stock, unless otherwise noted.<\/p>\n
